About
Dr. Datta Roy is an assistant professor of Forensic Physics/Ballistics/Crime Scene Management at National
Forensic Sciences University. He is working as Assistant Dean (I/C) at NFSU Tripura Campus. He was born in Tripura in 1988
and grew up with a passion for science and mathematics. After completing his postgraduate
degree in Physics, he earn a PhD in physics from Tripura University (A Central
University).
Dr. Datta
Roy’s research focuses on nanotechnology, digital electronics, designing of
FRET sensors, etc. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed
journals, and he has received multiple awards for his contributions to the
field.
In
addition to his research, Dr. Datta Roy is a dedicated and passionate teacher. He
has taught graduate and post-graduate courses in forensic physics, modern ballistics
& computer forensics, classical and quantum mechanics, digital electronics,
nanotechnology, and mathematical physics, and has mentored numerous students in
research projects. His teaching style is known for its clarity and enthusiasm,
and he is a popular speaker and lecturer at conferences and events across the country.
Dr. Datta
Roy is also deeply committed to increasing diversity and equity in the fields
of forensic physics & modern ballistics. He is involved in numerous
outreach programs aimed at encouraging young people from underrepresented
groups to pursue careers in forensic science, and he works to create inclusive
and supportive environments for all students in his classes and research
groups.
Outside
of his academic work, Dr. Datta Roy enjoys playing, creating YouTube contents,
and spending time with his family.
