Prof. Manjunath Ghate, Campus Director, National Forensic Sciences University, Dharwad Campus. He obtained his PhD from Karnataka University, Dharwad, India, in 2003. Following his doctoral degree, postdoctoral research was undertaken at National Dong Hwa University, Hualien, Taiwan, and Changwon National University, South Korea, during 2003–2006. He also served as a Research Professor at Changwon National University from 2005 to 2006.
Throughout his distinguished academic career, four major projects have been undertaken under his leadership, funded by esteemed agencies such as the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), the Indo-Bulgarian Collaborative Project, GUJCOST, and DST-FIST.
With over 27 years of extensive experience in pharmaceutical science and research, his primary areas of expertise include the design and synthesis of novel molecules for various diseases, combinatorial synthesis, spectroscopic techniques, and forensic chemistry. His international academic engagements include a tenure as a Visiting Professor at Southwest University, Chongqing, China, from 2018 to 2020.
Prof. Manjunath Ghate’s scholarly contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the ‘Best MPharm Thesis Award’ conferred twice by the Rajanjibhai Foundation in 2010 and 2018, and the ‘Best Principal of the Year 2018’ by the Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India. Additionally, he received the ISCB Best Teacher Award in Drug Discovery from the Indian Society for Chemists and Biologists in 2020.
His research work has resulted in the publication of 101 articles in Scopus-indexed journals, with an H-index of 25 and a total citation count of 2,346. He has presented his work at numerous international conferences, delivered invited talks, and holds one Indian patent.
