Dr. Parag H. Rughani is a Professor of Digital Forensics and I/c Dean of School of Open Learning. He is also Associate Dean of School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics at National Forensic Sciences University. With over 19 years of experience in teaching and research. He has been part of the university since November, 2014 and has worked for two other institutions prior to that.
Dr. Rughani has so far published and presented more than 25 articles in reputed journals and conferences. One of his patents on Ornithopter has been granted in 2023. His research thrust areas mainly include Digital Forensics, Artificial Intelligence, Malware Analysis and Memory Forensics. He has authored a book and a book chapter on the subjects Java ME and Cyber Security, respectively. He has so far guided two Ph. D. student and six students are pursuing Ph. D. under his supervision. Dr. Rughani has also guided more than 90 students for their dissertation at National Forensic Sciences University (erstwhile Gujarat Forensic Sciences University).
Apart from research, Dr. Rughani has also trained officers from LEAs, Judiciary, Vigilance, and Banks, Academicians, Investigators, Security Practitioners, Researchers and others on various topics related to Digital Forensics and Cyber Security. He has delivered more than 50 expert talks at various levels and also delivered more than 60 training sessions as a subject expert.
Dr. Rughani is an active member of boards, committees and councils at various levels. He has also contributed as a member in various national and international conferences, seminars and events including the conferences held by NFSU, Interpol, Interpa and other reputed organizations. Dr. Rughani is a IEEE Senior Member and also a member of other professional bodies like ACM, IETE, ISTE and IACSIT.
