Dr. Swetha Lankipalli is an assistant professor at SFS, NFSU-Gandhinagar. She has obtained her doctorate degree from Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and worked at Poornaprajna Institute of scientific research, Bangalore. Her doctoral studies under the guidance of Dr. Ramagopal UA are on Structure guided modifications of immune receptors for use in cancer immunotherapy. She is an expert in recombinant DNA technology methods, heterologous expression of proteins using bacterial and mammalian hosts, protein refolding and purification, and Protein X-ray crystallography.
After her Ph.D., Dr. Swetha has joined Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL) as a Forensic Scientific Assistant and served in that position for two years during which she has excelled herself in all the methods related to forensic serology, biology and DNA fingerprinting techniques and has been declared as an expert in the field by APFSL.
Dr. Swetha has many accolades to her credit such as the GOLD MEDAL from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, recipient of BEST OUTGOING STUDENT award from Sri Venkateswara University, Qualified GATE (97.5 percentile), APSET (Andhra Pradesh state level eligibility test for Assistant Professor), and is a recipient of prestigious CSIR-JRF fellowship (AIR-40), India, She is also a recipient of prestigious European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) travel grant to attend a conference in Girona, Spain.
Her research interests include structural studies of different preservative treated DNA samples and investigation of compatible methods for retrieval of nucleic acid sample of forensic importance.
