Dr. Banabithi Koley Seth is a Chemist having expertise in Teaching and Research in the frontier interdisciplinary area addressing their chemical, physical, environmental and biological aspects through different sophisticated spectroscopic, biochemical, biophysical techniques and target specific synthesis. She earned her B.Sc. and M. Sc. degree in chemistry from Calcutta University, Kolkata. After that she completed one year Post MSc. Course in 'Biophysical Sciences' combining Physics, Chemistry, Biology and versatile interdisciplinary techniques from Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata in order to peruse research in interdisciplinary science. She awarded her Ph. D. Degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata (with 5 years fellowship) (2016). After completion of Ph.D., she did postdoctoral research on advanced fields in Peptide NMR, Medicinal Chemistry, Bio-Chemical and Bio-Physical tools from Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany and Durham University, UK (2016-2020). Post maternity she worked on her own project on the modification of a clinically used chemotherapeutic drug to develop a next gen isoform selective HDAC enzyme inhibitor that would mitigate side effects as Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Chemistry, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad (2021-2024). She also gained teaching experience from University of Durham, UK as Demonstrator (2018-2019). She has had experiences of mentoring bachelor, master students and research scholars of Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry and Zoology since her Ph.D.
