About

In a career spanning across 37 years and 29 days, I have rendered services in the domain of preventive and detective forensics especially forensic document science document examination of varied nature, dimension and intricacy with unquestionable expertise. Also, as a forensic document scientist, I was indulged in general forensic & domain specific research work on detection driven modus operandi of criminals and have published various research papers based on actual case studies with a view to enrich related literature on one hand and to highlight the emerging trends and changing notions of the crimes in the field on the other.
In the span of more than 37 years of professional career, I have dealt with the various mega scams unearthed in country having national and international ramifications such as Harshad Mehta mega securities scam of 1993, Jain Hawala Diaries scam, JBT Scam of Haryana, Cooperative Group Hosing scam, Punjab Panchayat Secretaries Scam, etc.
During active service, I have examined and furnished scientific findings (opinion) and reports on thousands of cases and have also tendered expert testimony in the various courts of law, court martials and commission of inquires throughout the country in pursuance of opinion/reports expressed by him. I have delivered hundreds of technical lectures on various and varied topics of forensic science to the students, police officials, judicial officers, vigilance executives of PSUs & bank officials and have also participated in various national and international forensic conferences, seminars and workshops and meets.
Acknowledging his contribution in Forensic Document field, Govt. of India awarded him prestigious Home Minister award. I have number of publications on Forensic Documents in both national and international journals of repute I have also been exposed to the prestigious FBI Laboratory, Quantico, Virginia, USA and had good opportunity to learn and observe the pinnacle of modern Forensic facilities, tools and techniques available there. After elevation to the post of Director & scientist ā€˜E’ in February 2021, I, successfully discharged duties of Director & Scientist ā€˜E’ at CFSL Chandigarh unit at Shimla (Erstwhile GEQD Shimla- one of the oldest forensic Institute of country established by British in 1904) and after 12th April 2021, I looked after entire affairs- technical, administrative, financial and operational issues- of CFSL, DFSS, MHA, Hyderabad as Director till 31 December 2021. Apart from above, I have also worked as GEQD Shimla and Guwahati during the period 2014 to 2021.
During the year 2018-2020, I was also associated with the Forensic working group of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries as a MHA, Govt. of India nominated representative and participated at a meet in Kyrgyzstan, wherein the action plan for forensic activities and cooperation amongst the SCO countries was prepared and adopted.
