Dr. Deepankar Sharma is working as Assistant Professor of Law at School of Law, Forensic
Justice & Policy Studies, National Forensic Sciences University [An Institute of
National Importance] under Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. He has a
cumulative work academic of 10 years having taught at National Law
University and Manipal University. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Competition
Law from National Law University & holds specialization in Corporate
Laws from National Law University and has been continuously engaged in
teaching subjects like Code of Civil Procedure, Competition Law and Corporate
Governance.
Academically, he has presented papers
and participated as speaker in more than 50 International and National Conferences. He has published around 19 research papers in SCOPUS/WoS/ABDC/UGC-CARE
Indexed/Peer Reviewed Refereed International Journals like International Journal
of Law, University of Sussex, Bradfordshire, UK and BRICS Law Journal to
name a few. He has written many guest columns for leading English Newspaper “The
Daily Guardian”. He has also authored 02 leading textbooks on Law of Corporate Governance and
Fundamentals of Commercial Laws from reputed national publishers like
Central Law Publications and Satyam Law International. He has successfully completed 85 specialized certificate courses and
3 Diploma courses from
international organizations like United Nations and leading universities of the
world.
Internationally, he was conferred “Honorary
Fellowship (Lifetime)” by Asian Institute of International
Financial Laws (AIIFL), University of Hong Kong (QS
ranked 22nd) in March, 2021
and only Indian Law professor having secured this honour till date. He was
appointed and invited as Visiting Scholar at City University of London for research and delivering workshop lecture in the field of Comparative Competition Law. He was also appointed as Visiting Research Associate at Faculty of Law, University
of Hong Kong. He was also selected as Arbitrator at Dubai International
Arbitration Commission (DIAC) and was included in its Young Practitioners Group. He has been
associated as international Editorial Council Member with BRICS Law Journal (SCOPUS Indexed
Publication).
He has
received “Academic Excellence Award” from the jury
of National Conference on Emerging Trends in Employee Welfare &
Dispute Management in India for contribution to academics in the field of
Corporate Law, organized by State Women Commission, Govt. of Rajasthan & Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University on 25th27th April, 2019. He was conferred “Distinguished
Legal Scholar Award” for contribution to the field of Law from the International
Multidisciplinary Research Foundation, Approved & Recognized by Niti Aayog, Govt.
of India & Govt. of Andhra Pradesh on 27th October, 2020. He was
bestowed with “Academic Excellence Award 2020-21” for
contribution to the field of Law from the Faculty of Law, University of
Allahabad and Droit Penale Group under the aegis of Arjun Das Gulati Society, Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) on 9th January, 2021. He was awarded “Academic Excellence
Award 2020-21” for contribution to the field of Law from Legal Desire
Media Insights, New Delhi on 31st January, 2021. He was
recognized with “Young Researcher Award 2021” in 2nd
World Law Conclave in recognition of professional achievements in the field of legal education from Alexis Foundation, Lucknow, India Centre for International Arbitration,
New Delhi, Areness Law Firm & Professional Services Network and Indian
School of Law, Policy & Governance on 31st January, 2021. He was
honored with “IIF Research Scholar Award” by the Indian
Institute of Finance, New Delhi in December, 2021 for his contribution
towards the field of Business Law. He was honored with “Academic
Excellence Awards-2022” by Inspira Research Association and
Chandragupt Institute of Management in May, 2022. In June, 2024 he
was conferred Global Humanitarian Award by Kathmandu
University, Nepal. Being an avid researcher, he believes knowledge has the potential of silently bringing
qualitative change in the world.
