Dr. Zalak Thakrar is a seasoned academician, administrator, and researcher with 14 years of extensive teaching experience. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor at the School of Open Learning, National Forensic Science University (NFSU), Gandhinagar, a role he has held since 14th November 2024.

Additionally, Dr. Thakrar is the Academic Head Cum Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Shri V.J. Modha College, Porbandar. He has been associated with this institution since 2010, initially under Saurashtra University, Rajkot, until 2016, and subsequently under Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University, Junagadh.

Dr. Thakrar completed his early schooling in his hometown and later earned a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) from Saurashtra University, Rajkot. He further pursued his Ph.D. under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Dr. Atul M. Gonsai, focusing on areas like Machine Learning, Satellite Data Analysis, and Boundary Alert Systems.

Throughout his academic journey, Dr. Thakrar has achieved several milestones:

• Published over five research papers in prestigious Scopus-indexed journals.
• Presented his research at numerous international conferences, gaining recognition for his innovative insights.
• Authored and secured four patents, including one titled "IoT-Enabled Wearable Device for Fire Management", which reflects his dedication to societal welfare through technology.
• Filed three additional patents, currently under communication, focusing on fire safety and health-related IoT solutions.

As a recognized Ph.D. Supervisor Guide at Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University (BKNMU), Dr. Thakrar has contributed significantly to mentoring upcoming researchers. Beyond academics, he has also actively supported his local community by applying AI/ML technologies to assist in fishing activities, earning a grant certificate from the Indian Patent Office for this innovation.
