About
Dr. Samandeep Kaur’s research focuses on developing sustainable solutions using bio-based materials and underutilized natural resources. Her work aims to harness the therapeutic potential of bioactive compounds for creating functional food systems that target lifestyle-related diseases, reflecting the philosophy of “let food be thy medicine.” She employs green, resource-efficient extraction methods and designs delivery systems to enhance the bioavailability and stability of active ingredients. In parallel, she explores the modification of natural polymers such as starch to develop biodegradable films and hydrogels, contributing to sustainable material innovation. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges bioactive chemistry, material science, and health-focused product design. With more than 25 peer-reviewed publications, she has contributed to advancing scientific understanding of how minimally processed, bioactive-rich materials can be applied in modern systems. Her ongoing work supports broader goals in circular economy, waste reduction, and responsible material use.
