Dr. Arvind Kumar Saxena is
currently designated at the position of Campus Coordinator at NFSU Academy–
Pune (National Forensic Sciences University– Pune Campus). Dr. Saxena is
working as an Assistant Professor at School of Forensic Science (SFS), NFSU
Gandhinagar. He obtained his doctorate from the prestigious "Physical
Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad [A unit of Department of Space, Govt. of
India]" in 2014.
With more than 15 years of experience, Dr. Saxena brings a wealth of academic, administrative and research expertise to his role. With the extensive research experience earned as a Post-Doctoral Researcher and Visiting Scientist spanning across renowned national and international institutions, including Physical Research Laboratory (India), Institute for Plasma Research (India), Max Planck Centre for Attosecond Sciences (South Korea), the Institute of Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy (Latvia), and Oulu University (Finland), he has made significant contributions towards the field of Experimental Laser Spectroscopy, Mass Spectrometry of Nanoparticles and Plasma Physics. Dr. Saxena’s scholarly endeavours are reflected in his portfolio of over 15 research publications, highlighting his dedication to advancing scientific knowledge. He is a lifetime member of many national as well as international scientific bodies. He is also serving as a reviewer of six international peer-reviewed journals. He is a Recognized Research Supervisor for PhD students NFSU Gandhinagar.
Dr. Saxena is experienced in administrative reforms. He is a co-coordinator of BSc-MSc Integrated Program at NFSU Gandhinagar. He has also served as a program leader for MSc Physics and a member of board of studies at Institute of Advanced Research Gandhinagar (2020-2021). He was appointed a member of committee in the “National Education Policy-2020” by the “Commissionerate of Higher Education”- Gujarat (2023). He has been an esteemed member of “Advisory committee” of “International conference on NanoPhotonics (ICNP)-2023” organized by Holy Cross College, Tiruchirappalli.
He is a recipient of CSIR-NET-JRF (2007 & 2008) and GATE (2008) with 98 percentiles. He was awarded the prestigious "Honorary Degree for Leading Researcher" by the University of Latvia, Latvia. He has delivered many invited talks in National as well as international research institutes. He has also served as Dr. Saxena is experienced in designing and developing sophisticated instruments, like, mass spectrometers, Velocity Map Imaging (VMI) spectrometer, Ion sources, cluster sources, plasma based experimental setup etc. He is also experienced in handling high vacuum systems, spectroscopic techniques, nanoparticle production and analysis etc. His research thrust areas mainly include Spectroscopic and Mass spectrometric investigation of crime scene evidences, Experimental Atomic and Molecular Physics, Plasma Physics and Nanomaterial, Laser Spectroscopy, Mass Spectrometry of cluster ions and multiply charged ions.
