About
Dr. Vikas Chaurasiya is an accomplished applied mathematician and academic researcher specializing in mathematical modeling of moving boundary problems, with particular emphasis on heat and mass transfer, phase change phenomena, and sublimation processes arising in science and engineering. Dr. Chaurasiya earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 2023, where his doctoral research focused on the mathematical description of moving boundary problems involving coupled heat and mass transfer. He was a DST-INSPIRE Fellow, receiving both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in recognition of his research potential. He completed his M.Sc. in Mathematics with A+ grade (94.69%) as a University Topper, for which he was awarded the University Gold Medal by the Hon'ble Former President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind.
His research interests encompass Stefan problems, freeze-drying and sublimation modeling, functionally graded phase change materials, porous media, bio-heat transfer, fin problems, and advanced numerical techniques, including wavelet methods and operational matrix approaches. Dr. Chaurasiya has published several research articles in leading SCI/SCIE-indexed international journals, such as International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, Journal of Thermal Stresses, Numerical Heat Transfer, Thermal Science and Engineering Progress, Computers & Mathematics with Applications, and European Physical Journal Plus. In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Chaurasiya is actively engaged in the academic community as an Editor of Scientific Reports (Nature) and Associate Editor of Frontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics (Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computation section). He also serves as a reviewer for numerous high-impact international journals published by Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, and MDPI, contributing to the advancement of scholarly publishing standards.
Dr. Chaurasiya has delivered invited and contributed talks at several national and international conferences and workshops and has chaired technical sessions in major academic events. His teaching experience spans undergraduate and postgraduate programs (B.Sc., M.Sc., B.Tech., and B.Pharm), where he teaches Engineering Mathematics, Fluid Dynamics, Differential Equations, and Dynamical Systems, integrating research-driven perspectives into pedagogy. Through his interdisciplinary research, editorial leadership, and commitment to academic excellence, Dr. Vikas Chaurasiya continues to make significant contributions to applied mathematics, thermal sciences, and computational modeling.
