Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal is a distinguished academician and legal professional, currently serving as the Dean of the School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies, and as the Director of the Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science (LNJN-NICFS), National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Delhi Campus. She also holds the position of Director (Academics, Research & Consultancy) at NFSU. Prof. Pokhariyal's illustrious career spans over 25 years as an academician and she has more than 15 years of experience in administration as Dean & Director at the Institute of Law, Nirma University. Prof. Pokhariyal is recognised for her expertise in Criminal Justice Studies and Forensic Justice Education. Beyond her academic prowess, Prof. Pokhariyal has made substantial contributions as a consultant and resource person, providing invaluable insights into legal studies for both governmental and non-governmental entities. Notably, she shattered glass ceilings by becoming the first female Chairperson of the Indian Society of Criminology, serving in this role (2022-2024), showcasing her pioneering leadership.

Her outstanding contributions have garnered prestigious accolades, including the Senior Social Scientist Award from the Indian Society of Criminology, the Best Law Professor Award from the Business School Affairs & Dewang Mehta National Education Awards, and the Wonder Woman Award by Times Group, in March 2020. Prof. Pokhariyal's influence extends globally, as evidenced by her role as a visiting faculty at HOF University, Germany, and her appointment as a global professor by Tashkent State University of Law. Her interests span a wide spectrum, encompassing Higher Education, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Artificial Intelligence and Law, Technology Law, Cyber Crime Investigation, Online Alternative Dispute Resolution and Constitutional Law. As a prolific researcher, she has contributed numerous research papers to prestigious national and international journals. Additionally, she has authored and edited several notable books, such as "Forensic Justice," "Analysis of Judicial Approach on Forensic Evidence," "Forensic Justice: A Global Perspective," "Artificial Intelligence for Risk Mitigation in the Financial Industry," and "Artificial Intelligence and Law." Dedicated to enhancing legal education, Prof. Pokhariyal has spearheaded innovative programs, such as the B.Sc. LL.B. (Data Science and Law) and LL.M. in Cyber Crime Investigation and Cyber Law. Her commitment to faculty development is evident through the numerous programs she has conducted on innovative pedagogy, Outcome-Based Education, Clinical Legal Education, and Justice Education.
