Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Jammu and Kashmir Forensic Science Laboratory and National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), was signed at NFSU Gandhinagar in the presence of Padmashree Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU, on 30th May, 2023 with the objectives of cooperation for strengthening forensic capabilities and capacity building J&K FSL and promote academic, research and training activities in J&K. The MoU was signed by Mr. Mohammed Shahid Saleem, Director, FSL, J&K and Mr. C.D. Jadeja, Executive Registrar, NFSU. Alongwith Mr. Mohammed Shahid Saleem, Director, FSL, J&K and Mr. Qazi Irfan, Additional Secretary, Home Department, J&K was also participated. also appreciated the way NFSU has progressed and expanded in Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice-Chancellor (VC), NFSU assured to provide all required support to J&K. These senior officers of J&K Govt discussed the modalities and scope of collaboration including possibilities of widening of outreach of NFSU in J&K and students internship. Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director, NFSU-Gandhinagar Campus welcomed the dignitaries. Air Commodore K.R. Thakaar, Dean, School of Police Science & Security Studies, NFSU briefed them on various activities of the National Forensic Sciences University and its capabilities including academic, training, research & development, and consultancy. Mr. Saleem, Director, FSL, J&K and Mr. Irfan, Additional Secretary, Home Department, J&K also visited Centre of Excellences and Laboratories of Cyber Security; Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances; Investigative and Forensic Psychology; Ballistics Research Centre & Testing Range etc. During the signing of MoU, Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director-NFSU-Gandhinagar; Shri C.D. Jadeja, Executive Registrar, NFSU; Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director-NFSU-Delhi; Air Commodore Kedar Thakaar, Dean, School of Police Science & Security Studies, NFSU; Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar, Dean, School of Forensic hScience; Dr. Digvijaysinh Rathod, Associate Dean, School of Cyber Security & Digital Forensic and other officers were also present.
