National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar celebrated the World Environment Day in association with NSS Unit on 5th June, 2023. 75 various types of plants were planted under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at NFSU Campus. Padma Shri Dr. J.M. Vyas, founder Vice Chancellor of NFSU planted saplings of Basil (Tulsi) and Pomegranate on this auspicious day. Moreover, one virtual program was also organized to commemorate the day by the School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies. During the Tree Plantation, Dr. D.D. Bhagat, Joint Registrar; Ms. Shweta Arora, CoE; Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar, Dean-School of Forensic Science, faculty members, staff and students were present. During the virtual program, Distinguished Talk by Prof. Dr. M. K. Ramesh, National Law School of India University, Bengaluru; Upcycling Workshop on "Waste to Wonders: The Art of Upcycling" by Prof. Jay Thakkar, IIT Gandhinagar, Expert Talk on “Environmental Crimes and Its Impact on Society” by Prof. Dr. S. O. Junare; Expert Talk on “Anthropocene World and Climate Resilience: Role of Universities” by Prof. Dr. Purvi Pokhariyal were held.
