Prof. Himla Soodyall urged the students to become an ambassador for science, for the country and for engagement with society School of Forensic Science, National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) organized the Expert Talk by Prof. (Dr.) Himla Soodyall, Executive Officer of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) and Director of the Human Genomic Diversity and Disease Research Laboratory, National Health Laboratory Service at the University of the Witwatersrand on the subject of "Genomics and Society" on 31st August, 2023. Notably, Prof. Himla Soodyall is a leading geneticist of South Africa. She talked about her work and her passion for science and innovation. Dr. Soodyal has done ground-breaking genetic research on peoples of Sub-Saharan Africa in which her studies have identified some of the oldest DNA found in living people today, adding weight to the theory that modern humans evolved in the area now known as southern Africa. In her expert talk, Prof. Himla Soodyall urged the students to become an ambassador for science, for the country and for engagement with society. We have fared the human in humanity. Dr. J.M.
