Shri Dinkar Gupta, IPS, Director General of National Investigation Agency (NIA), Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India and three senior officers of NIA visited National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar on 6th September, 2023. The DG NIA visited the various CoEs of NFSU particularly Forensic investigation facilities and also the expertise available. The DG and NIA team appreciated the world class forensic facilities and NFSU role in crime investigation under the visionary leadership of Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor. Shri Gupta, DG and NIA team visited various state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities such as the Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security, the Centre of Excellence in Investigative and Forensic Psychology, the Ballistics Research Centre and Testing Range, the Centre of Excellence in Narcotics Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (NDPS), the Centre of Excellence in DNA Forensics and the Centre of Excellence in Digital Forensics. During the meeting as well as visit, Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director, NFSU- Gandhinagar; Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, Campus Director, NFSU-Goa; Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director, NFSU-Delhi; Air Commodore K. R. Thaakar, Campus Director, NFSU-Uganda and Shri C.D. Jadeja, Executive Registrar-NFSU and Dr Nilay Mistry Head of CoE for Digital Forensics were present.
