Women in Big Data Vidya Chapter, National Forensic Sciences University, under the aegis of School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics successfully organised an expert session on "Data Science : A Base for New Era Innovations" on 8th September 2023. Dr. Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, Dean of School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, Campus Director Goa Campus, Dr. Parag Rughani, Dean of School of Open Learning, Dr. Ekata Mehul, Co-Director, WiBD India chapter, Ms. Sowmya Moni, Co-Director, WiBD India chapter, were present. The event was also graced by virtual presence of Dr. Abhilasha Vyas, Business Unit Head, Cloud Security and BI, CloudThat, and Dr. Madhushruti Roy, Director, Global Net Revenue Management. The event began with an invigorating address by Dr. Naveen Kumar Chaudhary about advancements in ML and AI sector, along with the important role of data science and big data in those fields. Ms. Sowmya Moni, Co-Director WiBD India chapter, Vice President, Marketing & Alliances, Incture Technologies, addressed the audience by introducing them to the making of Women in Big Data India chapter, to realize the motive of bridging the gap between industry and academia in the country. She followed the talk with an informative session on introduction to data science and big data. Dr. Madhushruti Roy, Director, Global Net Revenue Management, gave an enriching session on innovations and evolutions through data science and big data in different industrial sectors. Dr. Ekata Mehul, Co-Director WiBD India Chapter, Director, UST Global hosted an interactive session on data biases. Dr. Abhilasha Vyas, Executive Council Member WiBD India Chapter, Business Unit Head, Cloud Security and BI, CloudThat, closed the expert talk by showing highlights on data security, compliance and regulations, and a demonstrative session on Azure cloud service.
