The Indian Post Graduate Course on Victimology, Victim Assistance and Criminal Justice was held from September 11-16, 2023, at National Forensics University, Gandhinagar, in collaboration with the World Society of Victimology. Prof. K Chockalingam, commenced the course with the History of Victimology and World Society of Victimology. The Chief Guest Dr. Justice K J Thaker delivered his Inaugural address and wished the participants and resource persons best wishes for the rest of the course. The Inaugural session lectures were delivered by Mr. Michael O'Connell, Prof. Beulah Shekhar and Prof. Dawn Beichner-Thomas. On the second day the participants visited the Center for Excellence-BEOS and the Center of Excellence – Cyber Defense Center. The featured sessions were delivered by Prof. GS Bajpai, Mr. Sai Mahohar, Dr. Sam Garkawe, Prof. Annette van der Merwe, Prof. Shekhar Seshadri, Mr. R. A. Trivedi and Dr. Jackie de. On the third day of the course, Participants visited the Mahila Police Station and Directorate of Forensic Science. In the evening a cultural extravaganza featuring performances by the students of various dance forms and music was arranged for the participants and delegates. On the fourth day, Prof. Purvi Pokhariyal, Mr. Justice Kalpesh Jhaveri, Prof.Janice Joseph, Dr.Rajesh Babu Dr. Vijo Vincent , Dr. Abrhama Johnson and Dr. Priyanka Kacker delivered lectures on various aspects of Victimology. The fifth Day, the course participants were exposed to the lectures of Prof. Yarygina Irina Zotona, Ms. Chitra Iyer, Dr. Shobha Vijender, Prof. M. Priyamvadha, Prof. Jaco Barkhuizen, Dr. Pamela Kerschke-Risch, Prof. Asha Srivastava, and Ms. Nissi Monsegue. Dr. Hema Acharya Delivered a lecture on the sixth day of the course. The participants also presented the minor projects they have undertaken to the resource persons, who have evaluated the presentations. During the Valedictory Ceremony we received insightful and wonderful feedbacks from the participants and the resource persons after which certificates to the participants were distributed. Dr. Swikar Lama delivered the vote of thanks marking the end of the course in the presence of all the delegates and distinguished dignitaries.
