Padma Shri Awardee Dr. J.M. Vyas, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), inaugurated the Library RFID Infrastructure on 3rd September, 2026 at the Gandhinagar Campus. The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) Library has embarked on a major modernization drive with the launch of advanced RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology and a new Online Library Portal. The RFID-enabled system streamlines operations through faster circulation, automated inventory management, enhanced security, and greater user convenience, highlighted by a Three-in-One Self Check-in/Check-out Kiosk supporting Biometric, Barcode, and Mi-Fare Card authentication. Complementing this, RFID Handheld Readers ensure accurate stock verification and identification of misplaced books, while RFID Security Gates provide robust protection by detecting unissued materials, triggering alarms, locking exits, capturing photographs, and sending instant alerts to the Librarian—together creating a smart, secure, and user-centric library ecosystem. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vyas emphasized that the newly launched Online Library Portal will serve as a unified platform for students, faculty, and researchers to search and locate resources across NFSU campuses, displaying live status and availability of materials. He noted that the integration of RFID technology with the portal marks a significant step towards building a smart, secure, and user-centric library ecosystem, reflecting NFSU’s commitment to digital transformation. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director, NFSU-Gandhinagar; Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, Campus Director, NFSU-Goa; Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director, NFSU-Delhi; Deans, Associate Deans, and students.
