The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), India, is supporting Guyana in strengthening its local forensic toxicology capabilities through a four‑week specialized training programme for personnel of the Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Forensic Science Laboratory. Dr. Ajay Soni, Deputy Director of NFSU, is serving as a key trainer for the programme. The programme focuses on enhancing expertise in forensic toxicology, evidence handling, analytical techniques, and interpretation, with the objective of enabling more forensic testing locally, reducing reliance on overseas analysis, and ensuring faster scientific support to criminal investigations and the justice system. NFSU remains committed to strengthening international cooperation and advancing forensic science capacity for the effective and timely delivery of justice.
