School of Police Science & Security Studies (SPSSS) of the National Forensic Science University in collaboration with Mahindra Defence organized a 2-day Seminar on ‘Law Enforcement and Security Responses during Natural Disasters & Industrial Accidents’. It was inaugurated at NFSU Auditorium on 4th October, 2023 at Gandhinagar. The event was graced by Chief Guest, Dr. Rajiv Gupta, IAS (Retd.), Director General, Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM); Shri Narasimha N Komar, IPS, ADGP, Gujarat Police; Shri Pawan Desai, CEO-MitKat Advisory Services Ltd.; Shri Jasbir Singh Solanki, CEO-Homeland and Cyber Security, Mahindra Defence Systems Limited; Dr. J. M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor, NFSU; Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director, NFSU-Gandhinagar; Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director, NFSU-Delhi. Air Commodore KR Thaakar, Dean of the host school kick-started the event by giving a background to the seminar and the studies conducted for the students. During the inauguration ceremony, "Africa Risk Review 2023" was released by the eminent Guests. It is a comprehensive report on different types of risks being faced by all the 54 African countries, prepared by the students of SPSSS under the guidance of the faculty of the school and experts of MitKat Advisory Services Ltd. In the end, Professor (Dr.) Akshat Mehta of SPSSS presented a vote of thanks. Shri Raju Bhargav, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rajkot, Security Heads of different industries, Deans of various schools, and students of NFSU were present during the event.
