In a compelling tribute to the Indian Constitution, the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) observed the Constitution Day with a series of events spread across two phases on 28th November, 2023. The celebration commenced with academic competitions, including a Quiz on the Constitution and Creative Content Expression, under the theme "Sublime Constitution." Winners were felicitated, symbolizing the university's dedication to promoting constitutional understanding. The first phase also featured a thought-provoking Panel Discussion, moderated by Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Dean, School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, NFSU. The panel featured eminent dignitaries including Honourable Justice K. J. Thaker, Chairperson, Gujarat Human Rights Commission; Dr. I. P. Gautam, Former Member, Lokpal; Shri J. K. Bhatt, Member, Gujarat Human Rights Commission, (Retd.) IPS; Mr. Parindu Bhagat, Former Board Member, Indian Oil Corp. Ltd.; and Mr. Ajay Umat, Group Editor, Ahmedabad Mirror, offering a mosaic of perspectives on the Constitution. The second phase of the event began with a Welcome Address by Prof. (Dr.) S. O. Junare, Director, Gujarat Campus, NFSU followed by a unifying Preamble Reading by over 450 students, faculty, and staff. Noteworthy was the release of the PROBONO Newsletter and the launch of an Online Certificate Course on Forensic Linguistics by NPTEL/SWAYAM, coordinated by Dr. Deepak Mashru. Honourable Justice K. J. Thaker, as the Chief Guest, shared enriching thoughts on the Constitution's impact on India's populace. A Presidential Address by Padmashri Awardee Dr. J. M. Vyas, connecting the Constitution to the essence of human life. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal. The successful coordination of these events by Dr. Navtika Singh Nautiyal marked NFSU’s commitment to constitutional awareness and education.
