Hon’ble Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah as a Chief Guest inaugurated "Centre of Excellence in Digital Forensics" and 5th International & 44th National All India Criminology Conference on Behavioral Forensics at National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar on 23rd January, 2024. Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah Ji felicitated Padma Shri Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU Gandhinagar, Gujarat with World Record certificate as the “Longest Serving Indian Forensic Scientist” for his 50 years of service in the field of forensic science. During the inauguration ceremony, Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL) and National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights signed the MoU with NFSU. Also, Journal of Criminal of Criminology and Criminalistics and Festschrifts in honour of Padma Shri Dr. J.M. Vyas was also was released. Hon'ble Shri Justice Arun Kumar Mishra, Chairman, National Human Rights Commission; Shri Rushikesh Patel, Hon'ble Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Law and Justice, Gujarat; Shri Harsh Sanghavi, Hon'ble Minister of State-Home, Gujarat; Shri Priyank Kanoongo, Chairman, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights and Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Union Home Secretary were the Guests of Honour of the function. NFSU and India Society of Criminology is organizing the Conference in collaboration with National Human Rights Commission, National Commission for Women, National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights and Gujarat State Human Rights Commission. Hon'ble Judges, Legal Officers, Police Officers, Criminologists, Scholars and other stakeholders from across the country are participating in this conference in large numbers. Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Chairperson, Indian Society of Criminology and Campus Director, NFSU-Delhi gave the welcome speech. During the function, Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director, NFSU-Gandhinagar Campus; Shri C.D. Jadeja, Executive Registrar, NFSU; Campus Directors of NFSU's campuses, Deans and Associate Deans of NFSU, faculty members and staff were present.
