International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking was observed at National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar in collaboration with Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on 26th June, 2024. Shri Jayant Misra, Consultant at United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Regional Office South Asia; Shri Patil Ketan Baliram, Additional Director, Ahmedabad Zonal Unit, NCB and Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU unveiled the Onsite Drugs (NDPS) Detection Kit named "Parichayan" on this occasion. State Forensic Science Laboratory, Haryana signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Forensic Sciences University. It was signed by Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director, NFSU-Gandhinagar and Director, SFSL-Haryana. Prize Distribution ceremony was also held and winners got the cheque from the dignitaries on the dais. Total 400 students participated in different competitions on drug awareness. A Drug Awareness Rally was also held by the students of NFSU. It was flagged by Shri Vikas Sahay, DGP, Gujarat and Prof.(Dr.) S.O. Juanare, Campus Director, NFSU-Gandhinagar respectively. Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director, NFSU-Delhi; Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Kumar, Campus Director, NFSU-Goa; Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar, Campus Director, NFSU-Bhopal; Dr. Aastha Pandey, Head, CoE-NDPS; Deans and Associate Deans of various schools of NFSU, Faculty, staff members and students of NFSU were present during the event.
