National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar Campus, organized a Workshop on Self Defence and Women's Safety for it's Girl Students and Lady Members on 8th October, 2024. The workshop was conducted successfully and passionately by Shri Amandeep Singh Gotra and his team. Padma Shri Awardee, Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU, greeted Shri Amandeep Singh with a bouquet. Notably, Shri Amandeep is the Pioneer of Sports & Fitness in Gujarat and is an International Wushu Fighter who has won the Bronze Medal for India too. Shri Amandeep Singh and his team, which included the Gujarat Police SHE Team too, imparted training on important self defence techniques in various situations, with pistol, knife, hand to hand combat; ten sensitive parts of the body to be attacked by the victim in an emergency situation; various laws ; Apps which are for the benefit of women's safety; items of daily use which can be used to defend oneself when attacked etc. The workshop also involved the participants in doing themselves simulated situations as per the guidance of the experts. The audience also had a lot of questions which were answered dexterously by Shri Amandeep Singh. The event was also streamed LIVE on YouTube for the benefit of the other campuses of NFSU all over India.
