The High Commission of India (HCI) in Georgetown organized a high-level workshop on India-CARICOM cooperation in counter-terrorism and law enforcement on October 17, 2025, in collaboration with the Government of Guyana, the CARICOM Secretariat, UN agencies in Guyana, and regional partners. This initiative fostered knowledge exchange and policy dialogue among experts from India and the Caribbean to address threats like terrorism, cybercrime, and transnational organized crime. During the event, Dr. J. M. Vyas, the esteemed founder Vice-Chancellor of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and Padma Shri awardee, delivered practical insights into leveraging forensic science for counter-terrorism efforts. Drawing from his extensive field experience as a pioneering forensic expert, he highlighted innovative applications in investigation, prevention, and evidence handling to strengthen regional security frameworks.
