National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar, and Zydus Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 29th April, 2026, marking a major milestone in advancing clinical toxicology services and healthcare research. Under the guidance and leadership of Padma Shri Awardee Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU has established a unique Centre for Emergency Toxicology (CET) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This centre is the first of its kind in the country dedicated to toxicological services. The MoU was signed by Prof. S. O. Junare, Campus Director of NFSU-Gandhinagar, and Dr. Chaitasy Mehta, Lead Medical Services at Zydus Hospital. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Jayesh Trivedi from Zydus Hospital and Dr. Bhoomika Patel, Head of the Centre for Emergency Toxicolgy. Other NFSU officials were also present during the ceremony. This partnership aims to strengthen clinical toxicology services and foster collaborative research initiatives. The agreement will enable NFSU to provide expert services to Zydus Hospital, furthering advancements in healthcare and the management of poisoning cases. The key objective of CET is to assist medical professionals by enabling quick detection of poison and thereby managing emergencies and providing better healthcare.
