India's first training program on "Virtual Autopsy" started at National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) on 16th January 2023 at NFSU. Mr. Peter Cook, British Deputy High Commissioner to Gujarat & Rajasthan, was the Chief Guest of the Inauguration Ceremony of a 5-day training program on "Virtual Autopsy." Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU, Mr. Ash Govind, CEO, Virtual Autopsy, U.K., and Dr. Kalpesh Shah, Dean, BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad, were present in this inauguration ceremony. Notably, the first-of-its-kind training program in the entire country is organized by the School of Medico-Legal Studies, National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), in collaboration with Virtual Autopsy, India. The Academy of Forensic Medical Sciences London-UK accredits this program. During the training, interactive discussions and workshops will be conducted on virtual autopsy. On the first day of the event, Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Babu, Dean-SMLS, NFSU, Dr. Yanko Kolev Head – FMT Dept. and Consultant in Medical Imaging, Gabrovo, Bulgaria, Dr. Fabrice Dedouit, Forensic Radiologist, Rangueil Larrey Toulouse Hospital, France and Dr. Hemanth Naik, from UK delivered the scientific session. Large number of participants from India and abroad are present. During the Inauguration Ceremony, Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director-NFSU Gandhinagar, delivered the welcome address, and Dr. G. Rajesh Babu-Professor and Dean-SMLS, NFSU, gave the vote of thanks. Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, Campus Director-NFSU-Goa Campus, Deans and Associate Deans of various schools of NFSU, and other faculty members were present.
