India's first "Forensic Hackathon" kicked off at the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar on 1st February, 2023. "Forensic Hackathon 2023" was inaugurated by Shri Harsh Sanghvi, Hon'ble Minister of State for Home, Govt. of Gujarat. Chief Guest of the function, Shri Harsh Sanghvi said that Gujarat is the safest state in India in terms of safety. The main three reasons for being safe are strict adherence to law, excellent governance and National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU). He also praised Dr. J.M. Vyas for his exemplary services in the field of forensic science. NFSU is organizing “Forensic Hackathon 2023” in association with the Directorate of Forensic Science (DFSS), New Delhi and is supported by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Govt. of India. During the inauguration ceremony, Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor, NFSU delivered Welcome Address. Prof. Charles Howland, Partner & Head of Environmental Group, New York, USA addressed the gathering on the importance of environment. Guest of Honour, Dr. Dragan Primorac, Forensic Scientist, Geneticist, Formar Minister of Science, Education and Sports, Croatia, gave his speech on the imporatance of Forensic Science. Dr. S.K. Jain, Chief Forensic Scientist, Directorate of Forensic Scince Services gave the concluding remarks. Forensic Scientists, Police Officers, Judicial Officers, officials from NFSU, students were present during the function.
