A 3-day "25th All India Forensic Science Conference" was inaugurated by NHRC Chairperson Shri Justice Arun Kumar Mishra at National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar, on 2nd February 2023. Mr. Jeevan Thiagaraj, Hon'ble Governor of the Northern Province of Sri Lanka, was the Guest of Honour at the function. During the Inaugural Ceremony of the 25th All India Forensic Science Conference, Shri Balaji Srivastava, IPS, Director General, Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), New Delhi; Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice-Chancellor-NFSU and Dr. S.K. Jain, Chief Forensic Scientist, Directorate of Forensic Science Services (DFSS) were present on the dais. On this occasion, the winners of 1st "Forensic Hackathon-2023" were awarded Rs.50 lakhs in six categories by the Chief Guest. Also, a souvenir of the All India Forensic Science Conference and the manual of DFSS was released. Exhibition stalls also showcased forensic science-related devices and Indigenous Start-Up Innovation, which was also inaugurated on the first day of the conference. During the inauguration ceremony, Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor, NFSU, delivered a welcome address. Guest of Honour, Mr. Jeevan Thiagarajah, Hon’ble Governor-Northern Province of Sri Lanka, addressed the gathering on the importance of Forensic Science. Dr. S.K. Jain, Chief Forensic Scientist, Directorate of Forensic Science Services (DFSS), gave the concluding remarks.
