"25th All India Forensic Science Conference 2023" concluded on Saturday at the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar. Prizes were distributed at the Valedictory Ceremony to the winners and runners-up of the best oral and poster presentations. During the 25th All India Forensic Science Conference more than 1200 delegates including Judges, Senior Police Officers, Army Officers, Airforce Officers, Forensic Investigators (All Directors of CFSL`s and State FSLs) , Academicians and Scientists, Industry Professionals across the world participated in the event. During the three day event, more than 50 International delegates and experts from countries like Croatia, Israel, Australia, Canada, Republic of Belarus, Britain and Germany witnessed the conference and exchanged views on latest advancements in the field of forensic science. There were various themes like Forensic Biological Sciences, Forensic Chemical Sciences, Forensic Physical Sciences, Forensic Psychology, Forensic Electronics, Medico-legal studies and Forensic Justice, covering more than 450 oral and poster presentations. Notably, the country's first forensic hackathon was also organized at NFSU. In each categories, winner and runner-up trophies were distributed as prize for Best Oral and Poster presentation. During the event discussion and deliberations were made on advanced technologies used in solving challenging criminal cases and ways to mitigate problems faced in forensic sciences through the use of Ultra-modern forensic technologies. The chief guest of the valedictory ceremony of the three-day conference was Hon`ble Mr. Justice Anand Pathak, High Court of Madhya Pradesh, who delivered the presidential address. Hon`ble Mr. Justice Kaushal Thaker, High Court of Allahabad; Hon`ble Mr. Justice Ravikumar Tripathi, GSHRC ; Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor - NFSU, Gandhinagar also addressed the gathering and briefed about the proceedings during the conference. Dr. S.K. Jain, Chief Forensic Scientists, DFSS gave remarks on the conduct of the Forensic Hackathon and 25th AIFSC 2023. Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director-Gandhinagar-NFSU delivered an Expert Lecture. Earlier, Mr. Mohammad Jamal Khan, Group Commandant, NBDC and Dr. Raghunath Acharya, Professor-Head, BARC-Mumbai gave lectures. When the panel discussion was held in the morning session. The topic was, “Police-Academia Interaction for Strengthening Criminal Justice Delivery System”. Including Shri Narasimha Komar, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Gujarat; Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Director, CFSL-Guwahati, Air Commodore Kedar R. Thaakar, Dean-SPSSS-NFSU and Group Captain SS Gehlot, Commandant, IAF-Indian Air Force. While Shri C. D. Jadeja Executive Registrar-NFSU welcomed the dignitaries with mementos. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar, Dean-School of Forensic Sciences, NFSU. A large number of forensic scientists, police officers, officials associated with the judiciary and students from the country and abroad were present on this occasion.
