He has done his Ph.D. from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC. He currently holds various visiting positions at the MPI. He has published over 35 academic books and numerous peer-reviewed articles. He is the former and founding Director of the Criminology Research Centre at his University. He currently holds four international adjunct/ visiting professorships. His current research interests include- Human Trafficking, Adult Corrections, Comparative criminal justice, and crime prevention.
