He holds the post of Advisor, SAMVAD, NIMHANS. He is a child psychiatrist with over 40 years of experience in the field of child mental health care and his areas of technical expertise include child and adolescent mental health and psychopathology including disability, Gender and Sexuality, Community-based child and adolescent mental health service provision, advocacy on child rights and law, training of functionaries of child care organizations, etc. He was a part of national deliberations on the POCSO Act 2012 during its drafting, and more recently an active part of the debates around the December 2015 Juvenile Justice Act on children in conflict with the law.
